Welcome to A.C.E. Taekwon-Do Edinburgh
We are the Edinburgh branch of the Authentic Centres for Excellence of Taekwon-Do, working to bring the unparalleled expertise of A.C.E. to the Edinburgh area. If you are looking for authentic Taekwon-Do taught as a real martial art, as intended by the Founder, then this is the place for you!
No matter your age, fitness level, or prior experience of martial arts, you are welcome at A.C.E. Edinburgh, and we will work with you to help you get what you want out of Taekwon-Do. Every Taekwon-Do journey is an individual one, and everyone trains for different reasons. We will support you to achieve your personal goals.
When you join A.C.E. Edinburgh you become part of the rich international community of A.C.E., gaining access to the technical knowledge, experience, and support of Taekwon-Do practitioners across the association. As a school we attend seminars, technical workshops, competitions, and training weekends held across the country to benefit from the instruction of A.C.E.'s Grand Masters, Masters, and International Instructors.

Our Lineage

General Choi Hong Hi
The Founder of Taekwon-Do.
General Choi developed Taekwon-Do in the early 1950s, officially giving the art its name on 11th April 1955.
Without the work of General Choi and his Pioneers, there would be no Taekwon-Do.

Pioneer Rhee Ki Ha
First Grand Master Rhee was the first person ever promoted to the rank of Grand Master by the Founder. Considered the 'best ever student of Taekwon-Do', FGMR is considered the Father of British Taekwon-Do, bringing the art to the UK in 1967.
FGMR is the Patron of A.C.E. Taekwon-Do.

Grand Master Cutler
Grand Master Paul Cutler was the first person to be promoted to 9th Dan Grand Master by First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha. He has been training in Taekwon-Do since 1973 and remains a lifelong student of FGMR.

Grand Master O'Neill
Grand Master Ray O'Neill was promoted to 9th Dan Grand Master by First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha in 2016, one of only two people in the world. He started training in 1978 and is Mr Dryden and Miss Booth's direct instructor.
